ComLaw is a legal database owned by the Australian Attorney-General's Department. ComLaw contains Commonwealth Acts, as well as other documents such as Bills and Legislative Instruments (Regulations). It is the only database of Australian Government legislation that is authoritative for the purposes of legal proceedings.
The Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) publishes public legal information. This includes primary legal materials (legislation, treaties and decisions of courts and tribunals) and secondary legal materials created by public bodies (law reform and royal commission reports) as well as Australasian Law Journals. It also provides a searchable index of legal web sites from around the world.
The World Legal Information Institute (WorldLII) contains over 270 databases from 48 jurisdictions in 20 countries in its initial release. Databases of case law, legislation, treaties, law reform reports, law journals and other materials are included.
Parliament makes laws, authorises the Government to spend public money, scrutinises government activities and is a forum for debate on national issues. This website contains publications and reports of the Parliament including Bills, explanatory memoranda and Hansard of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
The australia.gov.au website is your connection with government in Australia. It links to information and services on around 900 Australian Government websites as well as selected State and Territory resources. Australia.gov.au also searches over 4,000,000 web pages from Australian, State and Territory governments.
